About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse or Social Worker to join our Crisis Resolution team in Waitaha Canterbury. As a key member of our interdisciplinary team, you will work collaboratively with clients, their whānau, and other healthcare professionals to provide high-quality care and services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess and manage client cases, prioritizing their needs and providing timely interventions.
  • Work collaboratively with the Crisis Resolution team to provide urgent and acute mental health care.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, their whānau, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of care plans that meet the unique needs of each client.
  • Participate in ongoing professional development to enhance your skills and knowledge in mental health care.
Requirements
  • Registered with the Nursing Council of New Zealand with a current APC and mental health scope.
  • Qualified Social Workers with a minimum of 2 years' experience in mental health will also be considered.
  • Skills and experience in assessment and case management.
  • A full New Zealand driver's license.
  • Knowledge of and a commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi.
  • Ideal candidates will be a Duly Authorised Officer who has been trained and signed off as being able to facilitate the MHA; if not currently a DAO, applicants will be willing to undertake this paid three-day DAO training as provided by Waitaha Canterbury.

Specialist Mental Health Services are an interdisciplinary team that forms part of Health NZ | Te Whatu Ora - Waitaha | Canterbury.
