We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our team at Te Whatu Ora - Health New Zealand Waitaha Canterbury. As a Registered Nurse - Mental Health Specialist, you will be responsible for providing high-quality care to consumers experiencing acute mental illness in our 64-bed adult acute inpatient unit.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide individualized care to consumers with complex mental health needs
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement care plans
- Conduct assessments and evaluations to identify consumer needs and develop strategies for improvement
- Develop and maintain relationships with consumers, families, and caregivers to ensure comprehensive care
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance consumer outcomes and experiences
Requirements:
- Current registration with the Nursing Council of New Zealand
- Current APC and mental health scope
- Previous experience in mental health nursing preferred
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment
