Job Summary:

Alexander Steele Recruitment is seeking an experienced Environmental Sustainability Director to lead the review and development of environmental management policies and systems for UK sites. The successful candidate will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure compliance with environmental regulations and promote sustainable practices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Effectively communicate the company's sustainable development strategy to colleagues and ensure its aspects are understood by senior leadership teams across all sites.
  • Lead the environmental management audit programme, ensuring audits are completed in accordance with the agreed schedule and provide necessary guidance and support to all teams.
  • Manage the annual environmental review for UK sites, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Develop and implement effective waste management and recycling processes and procedures.
  • Lead the Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) programme, ensuring all assessments are completed to the highest standards.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years' experience in a dynamic food manufacturing environment.
  • IEMA Certification/NEBOSH Environmental Certification.
  • Excellent communication, planning, and problem-solving skills.
  • A strong track record of leading and motivating teams in previous positions.
  • Strong organisational skills and an exceptional attention to detail.

What We Offer:

  • A competitive salary of £63,000 + £9,000 car allowance.
  • A 10% bonus scheme.
  • A 5% pension contribution.
  • 33 days holiday per annum.
  • A Monday – Friday working schedule with regular working hours.
