Environmental Sustainability Director

As a leading specialist tile retailer, we're committed to promoting sustainability and reducing our environmental impact. We're seeking an Environmental Sustainability Director to lead and support the delivery of our sustainability strategies across the group, with a focus on achieving carbon neutrality by 2030.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Assist in the implementation of environmental strategies, policies, and action plans to ensure corporate sustainable development.
  2. Lead sustainability working groups to identify opportunities to reduce carbon emissions, minimize waste, and conserve natural resources.
  3. Ensure compliance with environmental reporting requirements, including EPR, WEEE, ESOS, and Plastic Tax, and stay informed of upcoming legislation.
  4. Collaborate with external sustainability consultants to improve the quality of our carbon inventory data.
  5. Research and provide expertise on sustainability initiatives, legislative impacts, and opportunities related to sustainability.
  6. Audit, analyze, and report environmental data to internal and external clients and regulatory bodies.
  7. Collaborate with suppliers to adopt sustainable practices throughout the value chain, reducing carbon emissions and waste.
  8. Champion sustainability initiatives and evaluate their impacts within the group.
  9. Assist in writing copy for annual reports, websites, and newsletters.
  10. Knowledge of EPR, WEEE, ESOS, and Plastic Tax is essential.
  11. Intermediate-level Excel skills are required.
  12. A passion for environmental and sustainability issues is essential.
  13. A degree in Environmental Sciences or a related field is preferred.
