About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Commercial Director to lead our Partnerships and Commercial Excellence team at Ocado Retail Ltd. As a key member of our Commercial Development team, you will be responsible for driving strategic partnerships and commercial excellence across the business.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage our relationship with Marks & Spencer, including the delivery of the M&S range onto our platform and working with trading teams to optimise commercial performance of M&S products.
  • Develop and run our challenger brand community and events, as well as deliver our annual supplier conference and other key events.
  • Programme manage strategic initiatives across the commercial function, ensuring that each of the various teams are working effectively together and delivering their strategic objectives.
  • Lead, from inception to roll-out, commercial wide projects such as the delivery of the Trading Systems Transformation programme, including launching new operational systems and enhanced ranging & supplier set-up processes.
  • Shaping and coordinating internal and external communications across the commercial team, including commercial away days.
  • Run change management programmes for key new initiatives impacting the trading team.
Requirements
  • Experience in commercial leadership, buying, management consulting or retail strategy roles, ideally with experience of managing strategic partnerships and / or change programmes.
  • Proven experience leading projects, taking ownership and delivering strong customer and commercial outcomes.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a track record of structuring and analysing complex problems.
  • Ability to spot commercial opportunities whilst driving customer outcomes.
  • Comfortable leading teams through change and operating in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
  • Experience managing multiple stakeholders across several functions and seniority levels with the ability to influence at all levels and build strong trusted relationships.
