Head of Corporate Governance

Hertfordshire Partnership NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Head of Corporate Governance to join our leadership team. As a key member of the Trust's senior management team, you will be responsible for leading the effective management and delivery of a full secretariat service at the Trust in support of the Chair, Chief Executive, Trust Board, and other regulatory/oversight meetings.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing highly effective and supportive role to the Chief of Staff in their role across with a view to continued improvement around corporate governance functions in compliance with statutory and mandatory requirements.
  • Leading the effective management and delivery of a full secretariat service at the Trust in support of the Chair, Chief Executive, Trust Board, and other regulatory/oversight meetings.
  • Ensuring that the Trust meets all legal and corporate governance requirements, including compliance with the requirements of the Trust's Constitution, The NHS Foundation Trust Code of Governance, Provider Licence, and other best practice in corporate governance.
  • Providing expertise in FT Constitutional and corporate governance to deliver a successful and inclusive election processes for public, patient, and staff representatives to the Council of Governors.
  • Developing and implementing policies relevant to corporate governance.
  • Undertaking analytical reviews of committee effectiveness surveys and other sources of feedback, including from Non-Executive, Executive Directors, and Governors, and presenting options for improvements.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in corporate governance, with experience of working in a similar role in a healthcare or public sector organization. You will be a strategic thinker with excellent communication and interpersonal skills, able to build strong relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
