We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Classroom Instructor to join our team at Supply Desk. As a Primary Education Specialist, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality education to students in Key Stage 1 or 2.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach all subjects to Key Stage 1 or 2 students as required.
  • Support students in preparation for Standardized Achievement Tests (SATs).
  • Identify and implement effective teaching approaches for Key Stage 1 or 2 pupils, staying up-to-date with contemporary educational issues.
  • Monitor teaching and learning activities in the classroom, taking responsibility for a classroom environment conducive to high-quality education.
  • Identify and teach skills that develop pupils' ability to work independently.
  • Provide academic oversight and direct pastoral responsibility for a class.
  • Prepare planning documentation, as required, in line with departmental schemes and policies.
  • Utilize Information and Communication Technology (ICT) in teaching and develop cross-curricular links.

Requirements:

  • Qualified teacher status.
  • Evidence of continued professional development.
  • Experience of successful teaching in a relevant environment.
  • Evidence of resource management.
  • Good historical SAT results.
  • Awareness of current developments in education and their implications for learners and teachers.
  • Understanding of the performance management process.
  • Understanding of effective strategies for learning and teaching, as well as evaluation.
  • An interest in extending pupils' learning at all levels.
  • Experience of classroom observations.
  • Experience of monitoring and evaluating the quality of learning and teaching.
  • Understanding of characteristics of high achievement and their evaluation.
  • Understanding of the target setting process.
  • Understanding of the effective use of data to improve learning.
  • Curriculum understanding of the effective planning of the curriculum, including assessment for learning, recording, and reporting to parents.
