Job Title: Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) Support Assistant

Job Type: Full-time, Term Time Only

Location: High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire

Job Description:

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) Support Assistant to join our vibrant and diverse two-form entry primary school. As a key member of our EYFS team, you will play a vital role in supporting the learning and development of our pupils, particularly those with high Special Educational Needs (SEN) requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide individualized support to children in EYFS, focusing on those with high SEN needs, including speech and language difficulties, Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), and other developmental delays.
  • Collaborate closely with the EYFS teacher and SENCO to implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and adapt learning activities to meet the unique needs of each child.
  • Assist in delivering a stimulating and creative EYFS curriculum, promoting social, emotional, and academic growth in our pupils.
  • Support with day-to-day classroom tasks, including setting up activities, supervising outdoor play, and assisting with personal care needs if required.
  • Monitor and report on children's progress to the class teacher and SENCO, ensuring that targets are being met.
  • Foster a positive, supportive, and inclusive learning environment where every child feels valued and encouraged to thrive.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working as a Learning Support Assistant or similar role, preferably in an EYFS setting.
  • A good understanding of child development and the EYFS framework.
  • Experience working with children with high SEN needs is essential.
  • Patience, empathy, and a passion for supporting children with diverse needs.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • A positive attitude and a willingness to learn and adapt to new challenges.
