Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to provide tailored support to a child with special educational needs (SEN) in a vibrant and inclusive primary school in High Wycombe.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide 1:1 support to the child, helping them access the curriculum and engage in learning activities.
  • Implement and follow the child's Individual Education Plan (IEP).
  • Work closely with the class teacher, SENCO, and other professionals to ensure a holistic approach to the child's development.
  • Foster a positive and nurturing learning environment, promoting the child's social and emotional well-being.
  • Support the child in developing essential life skills, communication, and independence.
  • Monitor and report on the child's progress, contributing to review meetings with parents and professionals.
Requirements:
  • Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant, preferably in a 1:1 capacity with children who have SEN (such as Autism, ADHD, or Speech & Language difficulties).
  • A compassionate and patient approach, with a genuine desire to support children with additional needs.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to collaborate with teachers, SENCOs, and parents.
  • Strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures.
  • Relevant qualifications such as CACHE Level 3 in Supporting Teaching & Learning (desirable but not essential).
  • A proactive attitude, with the ability to work both independently and as part of a supportive team.
