Our organization is seeking a Lead Application Engineer specializing in tendering processes. This role is essential for managing bids related to high voltage AC & DC substations, offshore wind farms, battery energy storage, and green hydrogen production initiatives.

Role Objectives:
The selected candidate will lead a multidisciplinary team of designers and engineers, collaborating closely with bid managers to prepare comprehensive bids. A strong understanding of the tendering process and market dynamics is crucial for developing effective bid strategies that align with customer value.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and submit bids for the specified projects.
  • Provide expert technical guidance on substation design and primary plant solutions during the tendering phase, working in conjunction with the commercial team.
  • Conduct thorough analysis of client requirements to optimize product selection.
  • Prepare detailed technical documentation for bid submissions, outlining scope, schedule, and cost in accordance with contractual and internal guidelines.
  • Create technical specifications for equipment and services.
  • Possess a deep understanding of business drivers and how team efforts integrate with broader organizational goals.
  • Utilize judgment to propose innovative solutions while adhering to established parameters.
  • Leverage prior experience and training to address straightforward challenges.
  • Access necessary technical skills and analytical capabilities to resolve issues.
  • Collaborate with various internal resources to achieve desired outcomes.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Power Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution.
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in Engineering/Technology and Customer Application Engineering within the Transmission and/or Distribution sectors (experience in related fields will also be considered).
  • Preferred: Background in wind farm and/or HVDC design.
  • Proficient in both spoken and written English.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to document, plan, and execute projects within tight deadlines.
