About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and creative Cook to join our team at the Oakdene Children's Home. As a key member of our kitchen staff, you will play a vital role in designing menus that meet the dietary needs of our children and young people with learning difficulties.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and prepare healthy and nutritious meals for our residents
  • Manage kitchen operations, including ordering and stock control
  • Work collaboratively with our care team to ensure the dietary needs of our residents are met
  • Ensure a safe and hygienic kitchen environment

Requirements:

  • Proven experience of working in a kitchen environment, preferably with children or young people
  • Good understanding of health and safety regulations and food hygiene practices
  • Ability to work flexibly, including weekends and school holidays
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
