About the Role

Margetts Fund Management Ltd is seeking an experienced Investment Oversight Analyst to join our team. As an Investment Oversight Analyst, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the effective oversight of our Collective Investment Schemes and their appointed Investment Advisers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Monitoring and Compliance: Conduct daily monitoring of relevant Investment and Borrowing Powers and prospectus rules, engaging with the Compliance team and investment managers as necessary.
  • Assessment of Value: Contribute to the analysis and recommendations for the annual Assessment of Value report.
  • Due Diligence: Support the execution and ongoing development of due diligence processes for new and existing Investment Advisers.
  • Business Intelligence: Generate high-quality business intelligence and seek process efficiencies.
  • Committee Support: Attend and prepare business intelligence for Committee meetings covering areas such as Investment Risk, Valuation, and Liquidity Oversight.
  • Process Development: Support the development of business-as-usual processes and ongoing project activity.
Desirable Skills and Experience
  • 3-5 years of experience in an investment oversight or investment analyst role at a regulated firm.
  • Exposure to ACD/AFM business and related functions such as depositary, fund pricing, and compliance.
  • Understanding of key investment risks and how to measure them.
  • Critical thinking and effective problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of industry regulations, including the FCA's COLL sourcebook.
  • Ability to assess the effectiveness of controls and make appropriate recommendations for improvements.
  • Ability to apply challenge, as appropriate, to internal and external subject matter experts.
  • Strong interpersonal, team-working, and communication skills (both oral and written).
  • Effective use of Microsoft Office and financial data software (Morningstar, Bloomberg, FE).
  • Relevant professional qualification, such as IOC, IMC, CFA, or CISI.
  • If not already held, an expectation to study towards and complete the Investment Management Certificate (IMC) qualification upon completion of a probation period.
About Margetts Fund Management Ltd

Margetts Fund Management Ltd is an Authorised Corporate Director (ACD) to several ranges of regulated retail funds, totalling approximately £9 billion. The funds managed include multi-manager, direct equity, mixed investments, derivatives, and property.

An ACD is authorised by the Financial Conduct Authority to establish and manage Collective Investment Schemes (Funds). The responsibilities of an ACD include maintaining a register of investors, including the settlement of client money, arranging safe custody, and valuing the assets held by funds to create buying and selling prices of the funds.
