Job Overview

Actuarial Analyst

A prominent player in the Financial Services sector is seeking a proficient Actuarial Analyst to enhance their Wythall operations for an initial contract period.

Desired Profile

The ideal candidate will possess strong numerical and analytical capabilities, coupled with a curious mindset aimed at deciphering the narratives behind the data. Effective communication of complex technical information in an accessible manner is essential. The candidate should demonstrate teamwork skills and the ability to prioritize tasks efficiently. Familiarity with analytical tools for processing extensive datasets is expected, along with a readiness to tackle new challenges.

A degree in actuarial science, mathematics, or a related quantitative field is advantageous but not mandatory; candidates from diverse educational backgrounds will be evaluated based on their qualifications.

Knowledge of relevant actuarial principles and With-Profits products is beneficial, though not required, as ample support and learning opportunities will be provided throughout the role.

Core Responsibilities

  • Assist in the design, development, and validation of intricate propositions or numerical models, analyzing various business data and providing recommendations to Senior Actuaries and management to facilitate informed decision-making.
  • Contribute to the creation of documentation and reports for senior leadership as necessary, under appropriate supervision.
  • Serve as an actuarial subject matter expert on strategic business initiatives to ensure specialized input is integrated into business decisions.
  • Effectively communicate with a technical actuarial audience while simplifying complex issues for non-technical stakeholders.
  • Apply commercial acumen to ensure that financial, business, and actuarial advice aligns with organizational objectives.
  • Articulate complex concepts and recommendations to various stakeholders across the organization.
  • Consistently meet defined deadlines while upholding professional standards.
  • Navigate business demands, challenges, and risks by exercising sound judgment in complex situations, often characterized by significant uncertainty.
