Job Description

Software Development Team Lead

Blackstar Amplification Ltd is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Software Development Team Lead to join our R&D team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for leading a team of skilled software developers, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead a team of software developers, ensuring efficient and effective project delivery.
  • Manage the development of scalable firmware and software using a structured, process-driven approach.
  • Plan and coordinate the Software Team's workload, communicating progress to stakeholders.
  • Maintain best practices within the Software Team, ensuring adherence to technical journals, research, and company QMS processes.
  • Administer the Sprint process for the Software Team, ensuring timely and successful project delivery.
  • Support the delivery of product firmware and software, from design brief to full production, including testing and verification.
  • Assist with project planning, scoping, and problem-solving.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 5 years' experience in a commercial software environment.
  • Experience working with audio software, JUCE-based applications, or embedded firmware is an advantage.
  • Strong understanding of software engineering principles.
  • Experience with Agile Scrum/Sprint planning principles.
  • Strong people management skills, with proven experience as a formal Line Manager.
  • Experience with project ownership and coordination, from conception to completion.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with people at all levels.
  • Guitar playing, a musical background, or a strong passion for music is considered an advantage.
