Senior CAD Designer

Join a world-leading defence organisation as a Senior CAD Designer, supporting the Submarine sector of the business.

This is a unique opportunity to work on the design and production of the 3D model of the whole boat primary structure, producing 2D drawing outputs to support manufacturing and production teams.

As a Senior CAD Designer, you will collaborate with a team of designers, sharing best practice and improving product and design.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and produce 3D models of the primary structure of the submarine
  • Produce 2D drawing outputs to support manufacturing and production teams
  • Collaborate with the design team to improve product and design
  • Work with specialised teams within the design team, including Seating, Penetrations, Eye plates, Primary Structure, and Hull Mechanics
Requirements:
  • Previous experience in a design role, preferably in a high-hazard industry such as Civil, Structures, Marine, or Oil & Gas
  • Ability to use CAD packages, particularly FORAN, NX, and/or Solidworks
  • Knowledge of techniques, processes, and tools for large-scale detailed designs of platforms, assemblies, systems, and equipment installation
