Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

  • Guest Services: Ensure all guests are attended to promptly and efficiently in a professional manner, without delay.
  • Guest History: Check that details of regular guests are updated using Guest History.
  • Diary Events: Ensure all diary events, flags, and specials are actioned.
  • Guest Mail: Check and pass on all guest mail, messages, and parcels promptly.
  • Housekeeping: Liaise closely with Housekeeping on information relating to rooms and lost property.
  • Daily Worksheet: Be fully aware of the daily worksheet and ensure this form is used.
  • Guest Registration: Ensure guest registration forms are completed correctly, then the computer is updated accordingly.
  • Account Postings: Ensure all account postings are accurate and necessary paperwork is produced.
  • Cashiering Balance: Ensure an accurate cashiering balance is performed at the completion of shifts.
  • Security Procedures: Ensure security procedures are maintained according to policy.
  • Express Check-out: Complete Express Check-out envelopes.
  • Security Boxes: Ensure security boxes are maintained and run within security procedures.
  • Safety Hazards: Report any safety hazards in the area.
  • Complaints: Handle all complaints promptly and efficiently.
  • Meetings and Training: Attend and participate in meetings and training sessions provided.
  • Additional Duties: Perform any other duties requested by the Night Manager.
  • Guest Welcome: Ensure the correct welcome is given to all callers and guests.
  • Guest Valet Parking: Provide Guest Valet Parking if required.
  • Audit Tasks: Complete all audit tasks as specified by the Night Auditors checklist.
  • Phone Calls: Answer all incoming calls as promptly as possible.
  • Reports: Ensure reports are distributed.
  • Cash and Credit: Handle all cash and credit with related paperwork.
  • Staff Support: Assist every staff member with their inquiry and seek assistance if the answer is not known.
  • Wake-up Calls: Process wake-up calls.
  • Handover: Ensure necessary handover of information is passed on to the oncoming shift.
  • Incident Reporting: Report any failures or inconsistencies noticed during shift to the Night Manager.
  • Competency: Demonstrate competency in all duties as required for the position as outlined in the relevant Award/Agreement/Contract.
