Recovery Specialist

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Recovery Worker to join our multidisciplinary team at Turning Point. As a Recovery Worker, you will play a vital role in supporting individuals with substance use issues, empowering them to achieve long-term recovery.
About the RoleAs a Recovery Worker, you will be responsible for delivering group sessions, covering a range of topics, and supporting service users to move successfully through treatment. You will work closely with other staff within the team, delivering evidence-based programs, including the Managing Alcohol Programme (MAP), Reclaim for non-opiate users, and the Recovery Skills Programme (RSP).
Key Responsibilities- Deliver group sessions, covering a range of topics, to support service users in achieving long-term recovery.
- Work closely with other staff within the team to deliver evidence-based programs.
- Support service users to move successfully through treatment, using Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and motivational interviewing (MI) skills.
- Collaborate with other partners in criminal justice, housing, and health and social care to provide comprehensive support to service users.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Experience of delivering group work programs and an understanding of the theory behind the benefits of group work.
- Knowledge of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and motivational interviewing (MI) skills.
- Experience of working with people using alcohol and other drugs, or a willingness to learn.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills, including robust IT skills.
