Laboratories Manager

About the Role
The UCL Eastman Dental Institute is seeking a highly skilled Laboratories Manager to play a key role in achieving its teaching and research vision and strategy across both Bloomsbury and UCL East campus. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all labs across both sites, including storage and preparation areas, health and safety, and equipment maintenance. They will also be responsible for training and line managing a team of technicians, as well as coordinating with the general Wet Lab Manager of UCL East facilities.
About You
The ideal candidate will have a degree in an Engineering or Science subject, or equivalent professional experience, and substantial experience managing a chemical laboratory and a team of technical staff. They will have strong interpersonal skills, be able to work independently with minimum supervision, and be able to interact positively with colleagues and various stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage all labs across both Bloomsbury and UCL East campus
- Responsible for health and safety, equipment maintenance, and training
- Line manage a team of technicians
- Coordinate with the general Wet Lab Manager of UCL East facilities
- Manage hazardous waste, both chemical and biochemical
- Operate different equipment types
