Position Summary

The role of the Electrical Systems Engineer is to assist the Technical Supervisor and Workplace Director in delivering exceptional reactive and planned maintenance services for building engineering systems, adhering to all statutory requirements and safe working practices.

This position requires a skilled individual with qualifications in electrical systems, specifically BS7671 18th Edition, along with basic plumbing and mechanical competencies.


Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on all building services and systems as directed by the Technical Supervisor to ensure continuous operation.
  • Foster a culture of service excellence within the client location to enhance the brand's reputation among stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with Health, Safety, Environmental, Quality, and COSHH regulations, adhering to all company policies and procedures.
  • Perform risk assessments for both reactive and planned maintenance tasks to guarantee safe working conditions.
  • Maintain all equipment, appliances, and fixtures associated with mechanical and electrical systems in accordance with statutory requirements.
  • Demonstrate electrical competency, particularly in maintenance, fault diagnosis, and installation tasks.
  • Engage in general mechanical planned preventive maintenance (PPM) and reactive tasks, including plumbing duties.
  • Diagnose and rectify faults on equipment using manufacturer manuals and technical drawings.
  • Oversee small works projects as assigned by the Technical Supervisor, collaborating with the projects and construction team.
  • Ensure all repairs and installations comply with current regulations.
  • Assist in project handovers and 'snagging' of new installations to confirm electrical systems are operational and maintainable.
  • Conduct daily inspections of the building to identify and address faults within service level agreements (SLAs).
  • Support management in monitoring service providers to maintain required standards and achieve key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Coordinate with the Customer Service Centre to ensure timely responses to planned and reactive tasks.
  • Participate in an emergency call-out service as required.
  • Perform other relevant duties as directed by management, consistent with the overall service delivery requirements.
  • Manage a variety of tasks effectively, demonstrating strong planning skills.
  • Support the implementation of Health and Safety policies and standards, supervising others to meet deadlines and quality expectations.
  • Possess prior experience in facilities management.
  • Exhibit problem-solving skills, including data collection and analysis to draw valid conclusions.
  • Maintain a flexible approach to work.
