About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical or Counselling Psychologist to join our Paediatrics team at Black Country Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality psychological services to children and young people with physical health problems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive psychological assessments and develop tailored treatment plans for children and young people with physical health problems.
  • Work collaboratively with medical consultants, physiotherapists, and occupational therapists to provide a biopsychosocial approach to patient care.
  • Provide individual and group therapy sessions, as well as counseling and support to children and young people and their families.
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with other healthcare professionals, including GPs, community nurses, and social workers.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and contribute to the development of service policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • Post-graduate doctoral level training in applied Psychology (or its equivalent) as accredited by the BPS.
  • HCPC registration as an Applied Psychologist with Chartered Status.
  • Experience of working with children and young people with physical health problems.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
