About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and organized Shift Leader to join our team at Tesco. As a Shift Leader, you will be responsible for coordinating the store team to deliver an easy and fuss-free shopping experience for customers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate the store team to ensure seamless operations and excellent customer service
  • Support colleagues in achieving daily priorities and take regular breaks to maintain a safe and healthy work environment
  • Open and close the store, ensuring all decisions made are in the best interest of the team and customers
  • Be the go-to person for colleagues in the absence of a manager for day-to-day queries and concerns
  • Maintain a clean, tidy, and well-presented store, adhering to health and safety standards
  • Support managers in coordinating seasonal, community, and charity events to enhance the customer experience
  • Contribute to a positive team atmosphere, fostering inclusivity and respect among colleagues
  • Provide exceptional customer service by listening to customers and putting their needs first
  • Keep the team informed and up-to-date on any communications, changes, or updates
  • Stay knowledgeable about store performance and identify opportunities to improve and simplify operations
  • Coordinate store improvements and remove obstacles that hinder great service
  • Follow health and safety routines and procedures, ensuring colleagues do the same
  • Recognize and celebrate colleagues who provide excellent service
Requirements
  • Be a role model, providing thoughtful customer service that meets every customer's needs
  • Build strong, long-lasting relationships with colleagues to create a positive and inclusive team atmosphere
  • Be a clear communicator, comfortable using various methods to keep the team informed and up-to-date
  • Be comfortable taking the lead and overseeing the store in the absence of a manager
  • Be a good decision-maker, flexible in thinking, and comfortable handling change to ensure everything is right for customers and colleagues
  • Be motivating, inspiring the team to deliver beyond expectations
