Key Responsibilities
As part of one of the largest NHS trusts in the UK, our Pharmacy Clinical Trials service at University Hospitals of Leicester (UHL) plays a crucial role in the clinical research landscape. We conduct a wide array of Investigational Medical Product (IMP) studies across our multiple hospital sites, providing a supportive and fast-paced environment with a diverse portfolio of over 200 studies.
In this role, you will assist our Clinical Trials Pharmacists and Lead Pharmacy Technicians in ensuring the seamless operation of our expanding Clinical Trials Service. Although primarily based at one location, flexibility to work at other sites may be required.

About Us
We are seeking a proactive and responsible individual with strong communication and problem-solving abilities. You should possess a positive work attitude and a willingness to learn and grow within the service. Adherence to ICH GCP guidelines, the European Clinical Trials Directive, and departmental SOPs is essential.
Qualifications and Experience
Essential Requirements:
- Registration as a Pharmacy Technician with the General Pharmaceutical Council.
- Completion of BTEC & NVQ level 3 in Pharmacy Technician or equivalent qualifications.
- Relevant post-qualification experience in a hospital setting, with knowledge of GCP and the regulatory framework governing clinical trials.
Skills and Attributes
Essential Skills:
- Strong organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Capability to work independently or collaboratively within a team.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
In this position, you will engage with multidisciplinary research teams, commercial entities, and local departments to ensure comprehensive support for clinical trials. Experience in clinical trials is advantageous but not mandatory.
