Qualified Nursery Practitioner

Key Responsibilities

  • To exemplify and facilitate engaging play and learning experiences for children, ensuring the creation and maintenance of stimulating learning environments.
  • To serve as a key person for a designated group of children, ensuring that care and educational planning are tailored to meet their unique needs, interests, and developmental milestones.
  • Utilize observations and insights from parents to create comprehensive learning plans that cater to the diverse needs of children in your care, helping them to reach their full potential.
  • Maintain vigilance regarding safeguarding and child protection, prioritizing the welfare and safety of all children and adhering to established safeguarding protocols.
  • Keep precise assessment records of children's developmental progress in accordance with nursery procedures.
  • Ensure the wellbeing, health, and safety of children by promoting best practices and reporting any concerns to management.
  • Foster effective communication and positive relationships with colleagues, parents, families, and relevant professionals while upholding confidentiality.
  • Collaborate with the nursery's SENCO to support children who may require additional assistance and lead the planning and monitoring of targeted developmental plans.
  • Participate in all nursery meetings, including regular supervision and annual performance reviews, demonstrating commitment to both personal and organizational goals.
  • Actively identify and pursue your own professional development needs, including participation in both internal and external training opportunities.
  • Adhere to the nursery's policies and procedures.
  • Comply with the nursery's Equality and Diversity policy.
