About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Special Educational Needs (SEN) Teacher to support students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs in a specialist school.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan and deliver personalized learning programs tailored to meet each student's unique SEMH needs.
  • Support students in overcoming barriers to learning, both academically and socially, enabling them to make measurable progress.
  • Manage and de-escalate challenging behaviour in a calm and consistent manner.
  • Work closely with the wider school team to create a safe and supportive learning environment.
  • Build positive relationships with students, fostering trust and providing them with a sense of stability and encouragement.
Requirements
  • Experience working with children with SEMH needs, particularly those who have experienced trauma or disrupted education.
  • Strong behaviour management skills and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
  • A patient, empathetic, and nurturing approach to teaching.
  • The ability to build trusting relationships with young people and help them feel valued.
