## Job Title: Special Educational Needs Teacher - SEMH School
## Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Special Educational Needs (SEN) Teacher to join our team at a specialist school that provides education for pupils with an Educational, Health, and Care Plan (EHCP), where SEMH is their primary need.
## Key Responsibilities:
* Plan and deliver personalized learning programs tailored to meet each student's unique SEMH needs.
* Support students in overcoming barriers to learning, both academically and socially, enabling them to make measurable progress.
* Manage and de-escalate challenging behavior in a calm and consistent manner.
* Work closely with the wider school team, including teaching assistants, therapists, and parents/carers, to create a safe and supportive learning environment.
* Build positive relationships with students, fostering trust and providing them with a sense of stability and encouragement.
## Requirements:
* Experience working with children with SEMH needs, particularly those who have experienced trauma or disrupted education.
* Strong behavior management skills and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
* A patient, empathetic, and nurturing approach to teaching.
