About the Role

Prestige Civil Group is seeking an experienced Workshop Supervisor to join our Fleet & Mechanics department. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for overseeing the workshop and all mechanic and related services for our fleet and plant.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure high standards of workshop cleanliness, stock levels, and operation activities to maintain high quality and safe practices.
  • Cultivate a culture of safety excellence among mechanics and operators by implementing and enforcing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Oversee material purchases and identify opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements.
  • Manage key stakeholders, including operations managers, to understand their costs and productivity losses.
  • Implement preventative maintenance programs for all vehicles and plant, ensuring they are roadworthy, serviced, and maintained before due.
  • Manage all calls, queries, defects, and urgent work, scheduling tasks within our systems.
  • Ensure accurate time allocation for all work and jobs against plant numbers for effective cost management.
  • Support the business in reporting key data and maintaining the integrity of data related to plant costs and savings initiatives.
Requirements
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in scheduling mechanics, overseeing part ordering, and using fleet/work systems for tracking mechanics and fleet costs.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in driving and leading people.
  • Minimum 4 years of experience in maintaining fleet, including service, repair, maintenance, record keeping, and costing labor and materials.
  • Experience with construction machines, such as Earthmoving, Mining, and Civil, is highly regarded.
  • Experience with Concrete and Asphalt/Civil Construction is also highly regarded.
  • Red or White Construction Card is required.
  • Excellent customer service skills, with a proven track record of on-time delivery and quality standards.
  • Good communication skills, with the ability to direct and guide employees, customers, and stakeholders.
  • Responsiveness and adaptability in varying situations.
  • Growth mindset for self and others.
  • Valid Driver's Licence is preferred.
  • Plant Tickets are preferred but not essential.
  • Diesel Mechanic or similar technical knowledge/experience is beneficial but not essential.
  • Good MS Suite skills, including advanced Excel.
  • Good system knowledge and navigation skills, including Finance Systems, Fleet/Asset Systems, and Tracking.
  • Team Player with experience working with Mechanics, Fleet Manager, Operational/Department Managers/Supervisors, SHEQ Compliance, P&C, Finance, and Drivers and Operators.
  • NHVR and COR extensive knowledge is required.
