Job Summary:

The Firearms Licensing Administrator will provide administrative support to the firearms licensing team, ensuring that all firearms licensing applications are processed efficiently and effectively. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining awareness and knowledge of firearms legislation and procedures, as well as providing customer-focused support to callers and stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process firearms licensing applications, flagging any concerns or suspicions of potentially criminal activity to supervisors.
  • Maintain awareness and update knowledge in the area of firearms legislation and changing processes and procedures.
  • Provide customer-focused support to callers and stakeholders, providing advice and guidance on all aspects of firearms licensing.
  • Manage and process payments for certificates.
  • Receive, sort, and distribute high volumes of mail and email.

Requirements:

  • Administrative experience, preferably in a law enforcement or related field.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
  • Basic knowledge of firearms legislation and procedures.
