Job Summary:

Creative Support Ltd is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Relief Support Worker to provide person-centred support to individuals with a learning disability in our Jarrow, South Tyneside service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver intimate personal care, practical, and emotional support to individuals with a learning disability, promoting their independence and well-being.
  • Identify and access opportunities that enable service users to lead meaningful and fulfilling lifestyles, fostering their personal growth and development.
  • Support individuals in the community with various activities, including shopping, social events, and health appointments, ensuring their physical and emotional needs are met.
  • Collaborate with service users, families, and involved professionals to provide a consistent and coordinated service that meets the needs of service users, promoting a seamless support experience.
  • Work as part of a team and independently in service user homes, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability in a dynamic environment.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of twelve months' experience working with individuals with a learning disability, demonstrating a deep understanding of their needs and challenges.
  • A relevant professional qualification is desirable, showcasing a commitment to ongoing learning and development.
  • A warm and empathetic approach, with the ability to work in a person-centred way, prioritizing the needs and preferences of service users.
