Purpose of the Role:

  • Ensure adherence to all quality protocols and documentation in alignment with project specifications.
  • Assist the Quality Manager in delivering a compliant, high-quality project that fulfills regulatory and client requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

As a Quality Engineer, your responsibilities will include:

  • Implementing all systems effectively in accordance with the Business Management System (BMS), covering document control, risk management, record management, and QA/QC procedures.
  • Developing relevant Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs).
  • Creating and maintaining comprehensive Quality Plans.
  • Overseeing the simultaneous compilation of quality records.
  • Updating the quality schedule in line with the project delivery timeline.
  • Collaborating with the Construction Manager to ensure that project specifications are clearly defined and agreed upon by the team.
  • Assisting in the formulation of Project Quality strategies and plans, and implementing measurement frameworks throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Supporting external audits to uphold existing certifications and drive continuous improvement.
  • Providing quality improvement metrics and recommendations, while sharing best practices.
  • Conducting testing and inspection services for procured materials and equipment as necessary.
  • Utilizing quality assurance principles to ensure customer requirements are understood and that Quality Control mechanisms are established to guarantee that the asset or service meets design specifications.
  • Generating project and business quality reports as needed.
  • Assisting in the training and development of quality skills within the Construction team.
  • Conducting investigations and reporting on quality-related issues as required.
  • Implementing Short Interval Control, including leading daily section review meetings and producing weekly section reports via BIM 360.
  • Completing safety observation cards with a target of one per week, recorded through the BB APP.

Desired Qualifications and Experience:

  • Proven experience in quality assurance within the Electrical nuclear sector.
  • Significant practical experience in quality management within a relevant business context.
  • Experience in establishing a quality management framework and KPI measurement.
  • Ability to deliver reports in an objective and convincing manner.
  • An inquisitive and analytical approach to audit tasks.
  • Electrical expertise in ITPs, Factory Acceptance Tests (FATs), inspections, and system handover processes.
  • Possession of City & Guilds Level 2 and Level 3 qualifications.
  • Holding a CSCS / JIB card or equivalent certification.
