Lockton, Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Marine Claims Advocate to join our dynamic and expanding team. As a Marine Claims Advocate, you will play a critical role in delivering exceptional claims service to our clients.
Key Responsibilities- Report to the Head of Transportation Claims and work in conjunction with our existing marine claims advocate to deliver claims service across our team of associates.
- Assume responsibility for large, contentious, or complex losses and provide technical direction and support to our team of associates.
- Escalate referrals and provide technical guidance to our team of associates.
- Work closely with our Team Lead to oversee the allocation of accounts, set team objectives, and ensure goals are met.
- Liaise with our placing team to keep them apprised of material claim and market updates, while supporting them in their pitches for new business.
- Advocate for and promote Lockton culture and behaviors.
- Work closely with our claim associates to promote and encourage their learning and development.
- Handle a variety of claims and be responsible for a portfolio of accounts, primarily consisting of open market wholesale and retail business.
- Handle marine claims, including Hull and Machinery and Marine Liability claims, and demonstrate experience handling these classes.
- Familiarity with and ability to interact with claims market systems.
- Meet agreed Service Standards, volumes, and performance levels in line with Key Performance Indicators and handle claims efficiently in a proactive manner through physical and/or electronic broking, negotiations, and management of claims payment process.
- Maintain claims relationships, including regular calls, and provision of claims reports and management of Insurers for key accounts.
- Work closely with the Hull placing team and keep them apprised of all key loss developments and identification of trends.
- Extensive experience in marine hull claims handling.
- Knowledge of relevant policy coverages and exclusions.
- Proficient in using the London market systems, e.g., ECF, CLASS.
- Working towards ACII qualifications would be an advantage.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including networking, influencing, and negotiation skills.
- Excellent use of standard Microsoft applications.
