Position: Emotional and Social Support Teaching Assistant
Type: Full-time, Temp to Perm
Salary: £95-£105 per day

About the Role:

We are looking for a dedicated and empathetic Emotional and Social Support Teaching Assistant to join our educational team. The successful applicant will be instrumental in addressing the academic and emotional needs of our students, collaborating with educators, families, and specialists to foster a nurturing and inclusive educational atmosphere.

Key Duties:

  • Assist in the educational and personal development of students with emotional and social challenges.
  • Support the execution of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and Behaviour Support Plans (BSPs).
  • Engage with students individually or in small groups to deliver focused interventions.
  • Help maintain a positive classroom environment and encourage constructive social interactions.
  • Work alongside teachers to modify and present engaging lesson plans.
  • Provide emotional and social guidance to students, enhancing their overall school experience.
  • Track and document student progress, offering insights to educators and families.
  • Engage in ongoing professional development and training opportunities.

Qualifications:

  • Experience working with children facing emotional and social challenges is required.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Capability to collaborate effectively within a team setting.
  • Patience, empathy, and a sincere commitment to supporting children with diverse needs.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding practices and a dedication to student welfare.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in primary or secondary educational environments.
  • Familiarity with strategies and interventions for addressing emotional and social needs.
  • First Aid certification.
  • Additional qualifications in special education or child development.
