Group Support Volunteer

We are seeking compassionate and friendly individuals to join our team as Group Support Volunteers. As a Group Support Volunteer, you will play a vital role in supporting and encouraging people affected by dementia to engage in activities and socialise with others in a group setting.
Your involvement in this role will ensure people affected by dementia are able to meet others in a similar situation, access the support and information they need, and enjoy meaningful activities.
Our Group Support Volunteers are the face of our organisation, providing a warm welcome and support to those affected by dementia. You will help set up and tidy away at the end of the group, ensuring everything runs smoothly.
We have two locations for this role: Northampton Memory Matters and Towcester Memory Matters. Both locations require volunteers with an interest in activities, games, and reminiscing.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support and encourage people affected by dementia to engage in activities and socialise with others
- Provide a warm welcome and support to those affected by dementia
- Help set up and tidy away at the end of the group
- Assist with refreshments and ensure everyone has a comfortable and enjoyable experience
Requirements:
- Compassionate and friendly approach
- Interest in activities, games, and reminiscing
- Ability to work in a team and support others
Location:
Northampton Memory Matters (NN5 4GJ) and Towcester Memory Matters (NN12 6EX)
Time Commitment:
Afternoons, second and third Tuesday of every month
