Job Description

Clear IT Recruitment is seeking an experienced Senior Financial Manager to join their team in a leading education trust in South Yorkshire.

Main Responsibilities
  • Provide expert financial guidance and support to the trust and its member schools.
  • Develop and implement efficient financial systems and procedures to manage trust finances.
  • Collaborate with the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to ensure compliance with the Academies Handbook.
  • Assist in the preparation of audit and external returns with the Trust Business Leader.
  • Manage the Teachers Pensions Audit process, liaising with external auditors and payroll providers.
  • Undertake monthly payroll reconciliation, including preparation and posting of the monthly journal.
  • Set the 3-year budget forecast for the Central Team.
  • Upload annual budgets for all schools to the finance system.
  • Monitor and control performance to achieve Best Value.
  • Provide monthly budget monitoring reports to the CEO and other stakeholders.
  • Update in-year forecasts for effective information and decision making.
  • Undertake month-end reconciliations and other checks, as prescribed by the Head of Finance.
Leadership and Management
  • Lead and manage direct reports to inspire, raise aspirations, and drive improvement.
  • Assist the CFO and Head of Finance to ensure an effective induction programme for new staff.
Requirements
  • Recognised Financial Qualification or relevant experience.
  • School finance or business management qualification/experience.
  • Minimum 2 years in a senior financial role.
  • Experience using a range of financial software.
  • Experience of using Sage Intacct.
  • Eligibility for an enhanced DBS check.
