Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Associate Dean to lead our assessment process and ensure high-quality standards across all campuses. As a key member of our academic team, you will work closely with the Dean, Associate Deans, and other departments to maintain a high-quality assessment process.

Main Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage the assessment process on a day-to-day basis, collaborating with the Dean, Associate Deans, Programme and Cohort Leaders, and other departments.
  • Support, train, and develop team members within the faculty on assessment practices and procedures.
  • Ensure marking is completed on time and marks are verified and uploaded.
  • Liaise with Programme and Cohort Leaders and Head of Student Success Tutors to ensure students' support activities and administration tasks are completed on time.
  • Plan, organize, and monitor the successful execution of the assessment schedule, including moderation and verification processes.
  • Provide accurate information and advice on GBS and regulators' assessment policies, regulations, and processes.
  • Chair assessment approval and verification meetings and monitor the timely implementation of actions.
  • Contribute to the development and enhancement of policy and procedure.
  • Manage service standards and compliance with GBS and regulators' policy and practice within the Assessment Requirements.
Requirements
  • Applicants should have an appropriate qualification demonstrating substantial experience as an academic manager.
  • Relevant experience of quality assurance within a qualifications/training environment.
  • An understanding of faculty qualifications, requirements, and valid assessment.
  • A quality mindset with a passion for accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Substantial experience in the higher education sector at academic manager level.
  • Senior leadership experience in teaching and administrative strategic priorities.
  • Evidence of a significant and sustained personal track record of success in developing and leading initiatives to achieve academic excellence.
  • Excellent and effective communication skills appropriate to operating at a strategic level.
  • Interpersonal skills to galvanize, revitalise, and lead the staff of the department, as well as cultivate internal and external regulatory requirements.
