Consultant Grade Specialty Physician in Histopathology

Poole, Poole, United Kingdom University Hospitals Dorset NHS Foundation Trust Full time

Position Overview

We are seeking applications for the role of Trust Grade Specialty Physician specializing in Histopathology. This position offers experienced specialty physicians the chance to advance to a consultant level. It is a full-time role with no on-call duties. The successful candidate will collaborate with a team of Consultant Histopathologists, an existing specialty physician, and dedicated secretarial and laboratory support staff to deliver histopathology reporting services, including participation in multidisciplinary team meetings for healthcare professionals.

This role is essential for enhancing the support and coverage of the Histopathology Team, ensuring timely and precise reporting of cases. The hospital operates as a busy district general facility, providing a wide array of cancer-related specialties.

Candidates must possess full registration with the General Medical Council and a license to practice or be eligible for such registration at the time of appointment. While prior experience in a UK histopathology department is advantageous, it is not mandatory. However, candidates should demonstrate relevant competencies as outlined in the Royal College of Pathologists' guidance for specialty physicians.
