Upholstery Technician

We are seeking a skilled Upholstery Technician to join our team at Swansea Bay University Health Board. As a key member of our Rehabilitation Engineering Unit, you will play a vital role in designing and fabricating assistive technology equipment, including complex bespoke seating and cushion covers, posture support pads, and mattress overlays.
Main ResponsibilitiesThe successful candidate will work independently and as part of a team to create high-quality equipment that meets the specifications defined by clinical assessors. You will be responsible for:
- Designing and fabricating a range of equipment, including complex bespoke seating and cushion covers, posture support pads, and mattress overlays.
- Working with an experienced upholstery technician to ensure high-quality production.
- Communicating effectively with the team and clinical assessors to ensure equipment meets specifications.
- Meeting deadlines and working flexibly to meet service needs.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A relevant qualification in textile crafts manufacture or upholstery (or equivalent experience).
- Experience in upholstery, tailoring, or dressmaking.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- The ability to work to deadlines and be flexible.
