Upholstery Technician

We are seeking a skilled Upholstery Technician to join our team at Swansea Bay University Health Board. As a key member of our Rehabilitation Engineering Unit, you will play a vital role in designing and fabricating assistive technology equipment, including complex bespoke seating and cushion covers, posture support pads, and mattress overlays.
Main ResponsibilitiesThe successful candidate will work alongside an experienced upholstery technician to provide essential fabric covering solutions for assistive technology equipment. This will involve:
- Designing and fabricating a range of equipment to meet the specifications defined by clinical assessors
- Working independently and as part of a team to meet deadlines and deliver high-quality results
- Communicating effectively with colleagues and stakeholders to ensure seamless project delivery
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A relevant qualification in textile crafts manufacture or upholstery (or equivalent experience)
- Experience in upholstery, tailoring, or dressmaking, with a strong understanding of fabric selection and manipulation
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work effectively in a dynamic environment
