Building Works Surveyor

Position Overview:
We are seeking a Building Works Surveyor to become a vital part of our Investment and Compliance Team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong commitment to enhancing the lives of our residents and communities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the Programme Manager in developing minor works programs, including sustainability initiatives and collaboration with various service areas.
- Oversee the operational execution of minor works projects from initiation to completion, ensuring sustainability measures are integrated.
- Collaborate with contractors to guarantee that projects are completed on schedule, within budget, and meet high-quality standards.
- Engage with consultants and contractors to ensure timely and budget-compliant delivery of sustainability retrofit projects, adhering to PAS2035 and future quality standards.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, including CDM requirements, throughout project delivery.
- Manage and execute urgent minor works projects as needed.
Candidate Profile:
The successful applicant will hold a degree in Building Surveying or a related field and be a member of RICS, CIOB, or an equivalent professional body.
Additionally, candidates should have completed a NEBOSH or Site Management Safety Training Scheme (SMSTS) or an equivalent qualification.
Essential Experience and Knowledge:
- Experience in delivering minor works programs and managing building contracts from inception to completion, preferably in social housing or a related sector.
- Proven track record in executing sustainability retrofit minor works projects.
- Ability to produce detailed work schedules and manage budgets effectively.
- Experience in managing multiple contracts while maintaining long-term relationships within a contract management framework.
- Knowledge of contract law, building construction, and relevant regulations.
- Familiarity with health and safety legislation, including asbestos and CDM requirements.
- Experience in assisting with the procurement and mobilization of contracts.
