Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Advanced Pharmacist to join our team at Metro Health Foundation. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide direct patient medication-related care services to improve patient outcomes and quality of life.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide medication-related care services to patients in assigned clinical areas, including ambulatory and in-patient settings.
  • Make medication-related decisions on drug therapy, including selection, dosages, routes, and methods of administration.
  • Work with physicians and other healthcare professionals to improve medication use through formulary review, drug usage evaluations, and quality monitoring.
  • Provide training and educational support for the development and enhancement of clinical skills in professional staff, pharmacy students, and pharmacy residents.
  • Supervise technical staff in drug preparation as indicated.
Requirements
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Pharmacy from a State of Ohio Board of Pharmacy approved institution.
  • Possess a current Pharmacist license from the State of Ohio Board of Pharmacy and maintains this license.
  • At least 3 years of experience as a Staff Pharmacist or 1 year of experience working in a full-time pharmaceutical role with a specialty emphasis for a clinical practice or medical center.
  • Documented experience as a Practitioner in a Pharmaceutical stewardship, or a specialty area.
  • Ability to interact effectively with a wide range of cultural, ethnic, racial, and socioeconomic backgrounds.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Advanced degree in Pharmacy as Doctor of Pharmacy from a State of Ohio Board of Pharmacy approved institution.
  • Clinically oriented Master of Science degree in Pharmacy practice and completion of Pharmacy Practice residency training.
  • Completion of an American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP) accredited residency.
  • Current Board of Pharmaceutical Specialties (BPS) certified Pharmacist.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to sit, stand, stoop, bend, and ambulate intermittently during the day.
  • Ability to see in the normal visual range with or without correction.
  • Ability to hear in the normal audio range with or without correction.
  • Finger dexterity to operate office equipment required.
  • Ability to lift up to twenty-five (25) pounds on occasion.
