We are pleased to announce an exceptional opportunity for a General Adult Consultant Psychiatrist to become a vital part of our West Sussex Care Delivery Service. This position is designed for those who are passionate about providing high-quality psychiatric care to adults in need of in-patient treatment.
This role offers a Recruitment and Retention payment of £25,000, alongside a relocation allowance of up to £8,000. The payment structure is as follows:
- £5,000 upon appointment
- £5,000 retention payment at the 12-month mark
- £6,500 retention payment at the 30-month mark
- £8,500 retention payment at the 48-month mark
The Recruitment and Retention payment is prorated for part-time positions. For further details regarding the Recruitment and Retention Payment and/or the Relocation Allowance, please reach out to our Medical Staffing Team.
Main Responsibilities: As a Consultant Psychiatrist, you will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team on the ward to deliver outstanding care to patients. You will also engage with other acute in-patient services and local community teams.
This position allows for involvement in research, development, medical education, or personal special interests. We are committed to creating roles that not only serve the community but also allow you to pursue your own areas of expertise.

Essential Qualifications:
- Full registration with the GMC and a license to practice
- Inclusion on the GMC Specialist Register or eligibility within six months
- Approved clinician status or ability to achieve within three months
- Strong knowledge in the specialty
Desirable Qualifications:
- Advanced degree in medical education, clinical research, or management
- MRCPsych qualification
- Good standing with the GMC
- Diverse specialist experience relevant to the role
