CAMHS Consultant Psychiatrist

The Sussex Partnership NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a highly skilled and experienced CAMHS Consultant Psychiatrist to join their Sussex-wide team. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality specialist clinical assessments, including relevant psychiatric and physical investigations, to children, young people, and their families in a range of settings.
Key Duties and Responsibilities- Provide specialist clinical assessments and treatment plans for children and young people with eating disorders and other mental health issues.
- Work collaboratively with other members of the multidisciplinary team, including nurses, systemic family therapists, and child psychotherapists, to deliver effective treatment plans.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with local healthcare providers, schools, and community organizations to ensure seamless care coordination.
- Participate in research and service evaluation to improve the quality of care and services provided.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of policies and procedures to ensure the highest standards of care and safety.
To be successful in this role, you will need to have:
- MBBS or equivalent qualification.
- On the GMC Specialist Register or able to achieve within 6 months.
- Excellent knowledge and experience in child and adolescent mental health, particularly in eating disorders.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with children, young people, and their families.
- Ability to manage complex clinical cases and uncertainty.
- Experience in research or service evaluation, with a commitment to continuous professional development.
