Job Title: Multi-modal Customer Service Specialist

Job Summary:

Savino Del Bene is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Freight Forwarding Operations Specialist to join our team in Birmingham. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for handling all processes involved in Export and Import shipments from inception through to final destination delivery, covering Sea & Air Freight.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review and streamline transportation processes to ensure a stable, efficient, and cost-effective portfolio of service providers.
  • Ensure a seamless customer experience by liaising with all relevant parties to meet customer expectations during the movement of cargo.
  • Have up-to-date knowledge of carrier portfolio, documentation, customs procedures, and associated commercial conditions.
  • Work on a shipment from first booking through to final delivery, ensuring accurate and timely completion of tasks.
  • Collaborate with the team to achieve operational excellence and contribute to the growth and success of the company.

Requirements:

  • More than 5 years of experience in a freight forwarding operational role, either within Sea or Air Freight, across either Exports or Imports.
  • Excellent customer service skills, with a strong attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise with all relevant parties.
  • Computer literate and able to adapt to using in-house computer systems.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to constantly changing conditions.
