Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Regional Technician to join our team at the RNLI. As a key member of our technical team, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing our life-saving equipment, ensuring that our volunteers and staff have the tools they need to perform their duties effectively.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain and repair life-saving equipment, including boats and launching gear
  • Conduct routine maintenance and inspections to ensure equipment is in good working order
  • Diagnose and repair faults in equipment, using mechanical and electrical knowledge
  • Work with our team to develop and implement new procedures and protocols for equipment maintenance and repair
  • Provide technical support and guidance to our volunteers and staff
Requirements
  • Minimum Level 3 NVQ, City & Guilds, HNC or equivalent in a mechanical engineering discipline
  • Experience in a marine or vehicle-based engineering position, with a focus on mechanical and electrical systems
  • Excellent mechanical and electrical knowledge, with the ability to diagnose and repair faults
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with our team and volunteers
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a flexible and adaptable approach
