About the Role

NHS Dorset is seeking an experienced pharmacy technician to join our medicines team as a Pharmacy Specialist. This is an exciting opportunity to work collaboratively with our system partners to ensure medicines are aligned with the health needs of our population.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support clinicians to incorporate medicines into clinical pathways in the most safe and cost-effective manner.
  • Manage the Dorset Formulary and technical monitoring of incentives in secondary care.
  • Provide advice on pharmaceuticals within new or existing pathways, including during service re-design.
  • Assist and coordinate the drug decision-making process within pathways across the System as needed.
  • Play an active role in the senior management team and direct line management of technicians.
  • Help deliver change and transformation projects to meet the requirements of the NHS Long Term Plan and NHS Contractual Frameworks.
