An exceptional opportunity is available for a pharmaceutical supply chain expert (preferably with a Pharmacist background) to take on the role of Procurement Manager at a leading service provider.

This dedicated team is focused on enhancing patient outcomes through innovative, Pharmacist-led strategies, which encompass the distribution of specialized medications and medical supplies, tailored development programs, compliance assistance, and more. The organization is experiencing significant growth and is preparing to move to a state-of-the-art facility.

The role involves close collaboration with independent healthcare facilities, social care entities, and other specialized providers to enhance pharmacy services for patients. As the Pharmacy Procurement Manager, you will be responsible for managing the procurement of pharmaceutical products and medical supplies for clients nationwide, overseeing the entire process from requisition to delivery.

Your responsibilities will include strategic planning and optimization, where you will assess process effectiveness, explore new suppliers and products, and identify areas for improvement, such as minimizing waste. Staying informed about industry trends, regulations, and best practices will be crucial.

Through effective supply chain management, you will lead a service that proactively responds to client needs, ensures compliance with all regulations, and fosters a culture of professional collaboration and accountability.

This is a permanent, full-time (40 hours per week) position for a Pharmacy Procurement Manager, with a hybrid-remote working arrangement.

Candidate Requirements:

  • (Essential) Registration with the GPhC (preferably as a Pharmacist; strong Pharmacy Technician candidates will also be considered)
  • (Essential) First line management training or equivalent management experience
  • (Essential) Proven experience in pharmaceutical procurement services with significant leadership experience
  • (Essential) Strong understanding of supply chain processes, legal compliance, and effective team leadership in a procurement context
  • (Essential) Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of building strong professional relationships and negotiating favorable contract terms
  • (Essential) Proficiency in data analysis tools and techniques
  • (Desirable) CIPS Procurement & Supply qualification, Level 3 or higher
