Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage a team of Purchasing Officers, providing direction and support to ensure uniformity across locations.
  • Oversee pricing and quality assurance for raw materials, ensuring a steady supply chain.
  • Identify and establish alternative sourcing options for raw materials, focusing on direct procurement from manufacturers.
  • Implement process controls for ordering, receiving, pricing, quantity, and quality management.
  • Develop and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure success.
  • Create and maintain a list of preferred suppliers for materials.
  • Track and manage short-life stock in collaboration with the Commercial team.
  • Ensure effective inventory management by developing and executing procedures to maintain accurate stock levels.

Qualifications:

  • CIPS qualification is preferred.
  • Extensive experience in raw material procurement is essential.
  • Proven ability to lead and motivate a small team.
  • Experience in manufacturing is required, with a preference for candidates with a background in pharmaceuticals or medical sectors.
  • Strong relationship-building skills with suppliers, including the ability to evaluate and onboard new suppliers.
