About the Role

Poundstretcher is seeking a highly experienced finance professional to join our senior leadership team as the Head of Commercial Finance. As a pivotal member of our team, you will be responsible for providing expert financial insights, strategic guidance, and leadership across the organisation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead, mentor, and develop the Commercial Finance team, cultivating a high-performance culture that encourages innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement
  • Act as a strategic advisor to the CFO and senior management, providing insights and recommendations on financial matters that impact the company's commercial activities
  • Collaborate closely with commercial, operational, and marketing teams to develop and implement strategies that maximise profitability, drive revenue growth, and improve cost efficiencies
  • Oversee the financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting processes, ensuring that they align with the company's strategic goals
  • Develop and refine financial models to assess the viability and impact of new business initiatives, investments, and projects
  • Stay ahead of market trends and competitor activity, identifying potential opportunities and risks
About You

The ideal candidate will be a highly experienced finance professional with a robust background in commercial finance, particularly within the discount retail or FMCG sectors. Proven track record in a senior commercial finance role, preferably within the discount retail or FMCG sectors. Experience in managing large teams and driving financial performance in a high-growth environment is essential.

Exceptional analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and translate it into actionable business strategies. Extensive experience in financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and analysis. Ability to develop and implement financial strategies that align with business objectives and drive sustainable growth.

ACA, ACCA, CIMA qualification or equivalent is required.
