Finance Business Partner - Commercial Analyst

Poundstretcher, a leading discount retailer, is seeking a part qualified Commercial Finance Analyst/Finance Business Partner to join its finance team. Reporting to the Head of Commercial Finance, you will partner closely with teams across Marketing, Retail, Property, and Buying to drive profitable decision-making and business performance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Produce weekly trading and monthly performance reports to identify performance drivers and recommend actions.
  • Provide high-quality business information to support strategic decision-making across the group.
  • Analyse and interpret large volumes of financial and operational data to draw meaningful insights.
  • Support the budget and forecasting process to communicate commercial risks and opportunities.
  • Collaborate with the Retail team to drive sales, margin, and profitability through financial analysis.
  • Work closely with the Buying team to understand financial performance and identify growth opportunities.
  • Assist the Property team in evaluating the performance of our store portfolio.
  • Support the month-end process with insights and analytics.

About You:

  • Ideally CIMA/ACCA part qualified with a minimum of 3 years of experience in a commercial finance role.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex operational data and financial models.
  • Previous experience in a Retail Finance team is preferred.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel with the ability to handle large data sets.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills with experience collaborating with non-financial stakeholders.
  • A proactive, flexible, and pragmatic approach with the ability to handle complexity.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and cultural awareness with the ability to challenge assumptions.
  • Quick learner who thrives in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
