Position: Corporate Engagement Volunteer

Ready, Willing & Able is a supported employment initiative by SeeAbility, dedicated to assisting individuals with learning disabilities and autism in achieving their career goals. Our mission is to empower individuals to find and secure meaningful paid employment. We collaborate with businesses to promote inclusive hiring practices, ensuring that individuals with learning disabilities and autism have the opportunity to demonstrate their unique talents and skills. Our team works closely with both participants and employers to facilitate successful workplace integration.

We are actively seeking employers in the Bristol and South Gloucestershire region who are dedicated to fostering genuinely inclusive work environments and are open to providing paid employment opportunities for participants in our program. As a volunteer, your role will involve engaging with and converting employers into partners for our initiative, assisting our coaches in enhancing engagement with potential employers and raising awareness about the benefits of hiring individuals with learning disabilities and autism.

Responsibilities

We are in search of a Corporate Engagement Volunteer who embodies our values, champions diversity in the workforce, and is passionate about inclusion. This individual will share our conviction that paid employment is both positive and attainable for everyone, and will actively seek new opportunities across a diverse range of employers and sectors.

Key responsibilities include:

Actively identifying employers who may be receptive to hiring participants from our program or collaborating with us to create inclusive workplaces for individuals with learning disabilities and autism. Engaging directly with employers to discuss the advantages of employing individuals with learning disabilities and autism. Collaborating with supported employment coaches to nurture these relationships, facilitating placements of participants in paid roles within these organizations. Required Skills Familiarity with the local job market in Bristol and South Gloucestershire. Confidence and ability to effectively communicate the benefits of supported employment to employers. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and internet research. Capability to utilize MS Teams and Zoom for virtual meetings. Reliability and consistency in commitment.

Please note that applicants must be over the age of 18 . To ensure the safety of those we support, a DBS check and two satisfactory references will be required prior to confirmation of the volunteer role. Additionally, as you will be working directly with vulnerable individuals, safeguarding training and any role-specific training will be mandatory.
