Coordinator of Volunteer Engagement

Salary: £24,000 per annum plus benefits

Location: Home-based with occasional travel requirements

Hours: 37.5 Full time

Join our dynamic volunteering team at SeeAbility during this exciting phase of growth.

We are looking for a full-time Coordinator of Volunteer Engagement who will oversee the recruitment, management, and guidance of volunteers within the designated area.

In this role, you will serve as the primary contact for each volunteer, offering consistent support and supervision while ensuring their integration with the local staff team. The Coordinator will collaborate closely with local Service Managers, the Fundraising Team, and the Volunteer Manager on all aspects of volunteer development as necessary.

Key Responsibilities

Recruitment, Management, and Guidance:

  • Develop suitable volunteering opportunities tailored to the needs of the organization, primarily working remotely.
  • Maintain regular records and reports for the Volunteer Manager and Senior Leadership Team.
  • Promote volunteer roles both locally and nationally through various platforms.
  • Conduct interviews and recruit volunteers, ensuring they are well-matched and adequately trained for their roles.
  • Manage all documentation related to applicants, including processing application forms and conducting background checks, while ensuring confidentiality and accurate record-keeping.
  • Provide supervision, support, and accreditation for volunteers and their contributions.

Networking:

  • Advocate for volunteering through recruitment strategies and attend relevant local and regional events.
  • Collaborate with the Fundraising Team to identify potential income streams from individual and corporate volunteers.
  • Organize events to raise awareness and attract new volunteers.
  • Build relationships with various agencies to foster collaboration in volunteering initiatives.
  • Communicate effectively with other departments and SeeAbility locations to support requests as needed.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Comply with all relevant volunteering guidelines and legislative obligations.
  • Promote the value of volunteers within the organization.
  • Perform administrative tasks as required and pursue training for personal development.
  • Ensure a safe working environment in accordance with SeeAbility's Health and Safety policies.
  • Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information in line with GDPR principles.
